1. KAYAK

Kajak

A kayak is a small single-person boat. It was originally developed by indigenous people living in the Arctic regions, who used the boats to hunt on inland lakes, rivers and coastal waters.

Nowadays it presents one of the most popular whitewater sports. The four main sub-categories of whitewater kayaking are river-running, playboating, slalom and creeking. The Soča River with its tributaries offers a variety of difficulty levels, ideal for learning and improving techniques in all categories. We offer instructional courses and guided descents in all categories and skill levels.

4. RIVERBUGGING

RiverBug

Riverbugging is a fun new way to experience white water rivers. Developed in New Zealand, Riverbugs are small, lightweight (7 kg) inflatable boats that are both stable and maneuverable and incredibly fun to paddle.

You paddle a Riverbug with flippers (fins) on your feet and paddle-gloves on your hands, it is easy to learn and you have the fun and challenge of paddling you own boat in whitewater - even without previous experience!

With Riverbugging you have a close contact with the water, enabling you to 'feel' the river, and a total body freedom of movement not experienced with most other paddle sports. Adventurous people will enjoy running more difficult rapids and trying tricks like 'surfing' and 'pirouetting', while the less adventurous or younger can enjoy riverbugging on easier rivers.

Whether your first time on a river, or you've already enjoyed rafting or kayaking - you'll love riverbugging!

-          it is a new thing on Soča and  it is a crazy experience

Fish1Fish2

The first 10 km of the Soča River, from the source to the Vrsnik stream, are breeding waters for the marbled trout and are typical trout waters, with numerous rapids and hidden pools. The primary fish found here are marbled trout, marbled trout crossbreeds, brown trout, rainbow trout, river bull-head and from the confluence with the Lepena stream, grayling as well. Fishing is permitted on the Soča from Čezsoča to the confluence with the Vogršček.

The best time for fly fishing is from June to the end of October. The season starts in April, but the river can be murky because of the large volume of melting snow in the mountains. During these conditions fly fishing is possible in the tributaries of the Soča: Lepenica, Koritnica and Nadiža (Natisone).

The banks of the Soča River are easily accessible. Most of the river is suitable for fishing. The exceptions are some ravines and canyons that begin near the village of Srpenica. For reaching the most remote places from Srpenica to Trnovo, you can use our special rafting service for fishermen.
